A shelf of recipes
Yours, typed in or imported from a link. Plus whole cookbooks you add as packs — two of them come with every house.
My Household keeps your recipes, the products actually in your cupboards, what they cost and what's running out — so tonight's answer is already on the screen when you open it.

The first thing you'll do
Setting up isn't a form. It's one screen per kind of thing, laid out as tiles, and you tap the ones you've got. Here are twelve of them — have a go. Nothing on this page is saved anywhere.
What it does
Most kitchen apps are a recipe box. This one also knows what you own, because that is the half that answers the question you actually ask.
Yours, typed in or imported from a link. Plus whole cookbooks you add as packs — two of them come with every house.
Products, not ingredients: the tin you own, the brand, the size, where it lives. Scan the barcode and it fills itself in.
Prices from the shops you actually use, tracked over time. Where the app can't work a number out honestly, it says so instead of guessing.
Recipes matched against the cupboard, sorted by how little is missing. Cook it and the app takes the ingredients back out again.
Plan the week, and the shopping list leaves off the things you've already got. Just back from the shops? Scan the lot in.
One house, however many people. Invite them and they see the same cupboard, the same list and the same plan for the week.
Recipe packs
A pack is a whole set of recipes that installs into your shelf, pictures and all. Two come with every house at no cost. The rest you buy once and keep — no subscription on top.
Fifteen things most kitchens already cook — bolognese, a stir-fry, a roast chook, mash, scrambled eggs. There so the shelf isn't empty on day one.
Twenty-eight drinks that were old before anybody wrote them down: the Negroni, the Daiquiri, the Old Fashioned. Specs are the common ones.
Getting going
The same steps the pips at the top of this page were counting — minus any you turn off. Everything you tick is saved the moment you tick it, so you can stop halfway and keep what you did.
Sign up and you get one. Name it, then invite whoever else lives there.
Food, the spice rack, the bar, household bits — whichever of those you care about. The rest stays out of your way.
Exactly what you just did further up this page, with the whole catalogue instead of twelve tiles.
The shelf already has recipes in it, so there's something to cook the same evening you set it up.
Free to start. Bring the rest of the house with you.
